A stand-up pouch quote is not one number. It is film, printing, conversion, accessories and freight added together, and the split between them decides whether a cheap quote is cheap or just incomplete. Most buyers discover this after they have paid a cylinder fee and the repeat order arrives at a different price.

Direct answer: For most sampling campaigns, a foil or metallized three-side-seal sachet is the right format — cheap per unit, flat for mailing, and compatible with standard fill-seal lines. It fails you in two cases: when the customer needs several uses before judging the product, and when the formula is expensive per millilitre and you want the sample to feel like the real pack. This guide walks through formats,

Choose a powder packaging bag by matching three things to your product: the dominant failure mode, the barrier level, and the closure. For most protein, spice and milk powders the practical default is a foil or metallized stand-up pouch with a resealable zipper, a wide opening for scooping, and a clean, powder-free seal area.

Direct Answer: Pecans and pistachios are high-oil, low-moisture foods, so the right flexible packaging is less about the bag shape and more about barrier performance. To choose well, match three risks—oxidation and rancidity, moisture gain that kills crunch and can drive aflatoxin in pistachios, and light exposure—to a material structure (PET/AL/PE or PET/VMPET/PE for most brands), a resealable zipper, and nitrogen flushing at the fill line. This guide walks through that selection, nut by nut.

Direct Answer: A flat bottom pouch (also called an eight-side seal, box, or block-bottom pouch) typically holds about 100 g in a 120 × 70 × 200 mm bag and up to roughly 5 kg in a 280 × 160 × 550 mm bag. The number on the front of the pack is not set by the dimensions alone — it is set by product density, required headspace, and filling method. Use the reference chart below as a starting point, then confirm the real fill weight with samples filled on your own line.

A flat bottom pouch — also called an eight-side seal bag, box pouch, or block bottom bag — is a flexible pouch built with a rigid rectangular base panel and two side gussets, giving it five printable panels instead of the two or three found on a standard stand-up pouch. The format is chosen when a brand needs the pouch to stand straighter on shelf, carry more branding area, and hold heavier fills than a bottom-gusset stand-up pouch of the same footprint.

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) officially takes effect on August 12, 2026, unifying packaging inspection standards across all EU member states, and strict requirements are set for flexible food pouches widely used in coffee, snacks, pet food and liquid daily chemical productsWTO/F....

On March 30, 2026, the European Commission released two critical documents — the PPWR Implementation Guidance Draft and a comprehensive FAQ — providing the long-awaited operational roadmap for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU 2025/40). For flexible packaging manufacturers exporting to the European market, the countdown has entered its final phase: full enforcement begins on August 12, 2026, less than two months from today.

The European Union's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which officially took effect on February 11, 2025, is approaching a critical milestone. Following an 18-month transition period, the regulation's full compliance requirements — including mandatory Declarations of Conformity and technical documentation for all packaging — become enforceable on August 12, 2026. For flexible packaging manufacturers and brands serving the European market, the grace period is ending.

For decades, flexible packaging production has followed a predictable sequence: print the outer film, laminate it to a barrier layer, apply a protective varnish, then wait two to three days for drying before converting. This multi-step workflow is not only time-consuming but also creates the very problem the industry now urgently needs to solve — unrecyclable multi-material structures.
